Our Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions about our care home services. Anything that hasn't been answered here please feel free to call one of our friendly team who will be more than happy to answer other questions you may have.
Can I visit before moving in?
Yes, all you have to do is call us and we shall arrange a time to come in. Should you wish to move in for a trial stay, we are more than happy to assist. After this period, you are able to decide whether you would like to take up permanent residency.
Are you registered with the Care Quality Commission?
Yes, you can find our full registration details on the Care Quality Commission website. Additionally, our registration certificates are always prominently displayed at the entrance of our home.
I am unsure what sort of care level I need?
Your care manager or social worker from the Local Authority can provide you with assistance in this matter. They will conduct an assessment to determine the required level of care. If residential care is deemed necessary, our qualified staff can arrange a visit to evaluate your or your family member’s needs. This assessment ensures that we can fully meet the individual’s needs and provide the necessary support.
What levels of care do you provide?
We offer residential care services for individuals aged 65 and above. Our care home is registered to accommodate residents in the Older Persons (OP) category as well as those requiring Dementia Care (DE). Please note that we do not provide nursing care.
When should I consider a care home?
It is important to plan ahead and consider the possibility of moving into a care home, whether it is for yourself or a loved one. At Orchard House, we understand the significance of proactive planning. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances can sometimes arise, leading to the realisation that one can no longer manage on their own. We strongly encourage early visits whenever possible, so you can see firsthand what we have to offer. If you find yourself in a situation requiring an emergency placement, there is no need to worry. Our qualified staff is equipped to handle emergency admissions, and all you have to do is give us a call.
